Two and a Half Million

Sometime in the early hours of today, we hit a milestone:  my readers have visited From My Side of the Sling two and half million times.  2,500,855 as this goes to print.

That is an amazing number to me.  I started blogging in 2011 just as it was going out of fashion.  I found that I had a very different voice of so many at that time.  I didn’t exaggerate the number of my conquests.  I wrote the truth—and my readers could tell.   Some saw themselves.  Some saw the man they wanted to be.

And some saw the man they wanted inside them.  I have met so many wonderful people thanks to sharing my story.  Some personally in the playroom.  Some with emails telling me their innermost secrets.

The set up of Blogger lets me see where the blog is read.  I have readers worldwide, but I am especially moved that my writing is finding men in countries where being gay is a crime.

There was a time during the pandemic and right after when readership was incredibly low.  I thought of stopping.  What was the point?  I held on.  Right now, the daily numbers have never been higher.  I am sure that I will be floating around the ether for some time to come.

So, thank you readers—those that have stuck with me for years and those who are just finding these pages.  Knowing you are out there is what makes me continue to sit down every other morning and write.

You can trust I will continue with the precept with which I started writing this blog:  reporting the good, the odd, the explosive…the truth.
