Have you noticed I have closed the gap in reporting
time? When I was working more steadily,
there was a 6 to 8 week lag from having the sex to reporting it. I would stop the regular local exploits so as to do the leather weekends faster. Well, as
of today, I am writing up things that happened just a few weeks ago. In fact, with the pause necessitated from
coming home from CLAW, I am at just 12 days between the doing to sitting down
and recording it. I will be soon be
stopping mid-fuck to write about it, if I’m not careful…
I have stepped up publishing this spring. I will try to keep to an every-other-day
schedule instead of every three days. I
don’t know if I can maintain it, but I will try. This, in part, is because for the first time in
eleven years of writing this blog, my daily number of readers is down. I don’t know if people have just moved on, or
they are tired of me writing posts that are too similar (though that is who I
am) or are busier, or just what is happening.
Is Blogger, with all the other hassles, under reporting so I’ll stop??
I have never expected to be read by a huge number of
people. The kind of sex I have is not
for everyone. But before, my numbers had
been good and were always growing. Not
lately. I still have very, very good
days—and then three or four days that are 25% less of what I had set as an arbitrary
daily goal.
Right now, though, this will not make me stop any time
soon…

ReplyDeleteIt is something I try not to focus on. One of the things that I wish I have is more interaction with my blog. When I see little to no comments I wonder if it's even worth continuing. But every now and then I will get a message in my email sharing how much something I wrote resonated with them.
One of most encouraging messages I got was from a follower of yours actually. It was that message and the few others that made me realize it is all worth it.
I see so many awesome blogs that have been abandoned for years. And Blogger don't help the situation neither. But please understand how valuable you are to this community of bloggers and readers.

I agree about the comments. I am guilty of not commenting enough myself. I started this blog just after the first rush of blogs were being done--but I still had 6 to 10 people a day writing what they thought. (They had all followed me here from when I wrote a few guest entries for A Breeder's Journal.
