More Vintage Young Men

 I need to take a day off from publishing something every two days, so I’m returning to my very occasional series of vintage nudes…or in this case, near nudes.

 

These are all the work of Wilhelm von Gloeden (1856-1931) a German photographer whose best known works are mostly of young men in Sicily.  These all date from before the First World War.

  2. I've only seen the last pic previously and I always assumed it was from the 1970's. How wonderful. Love the set ups. Thanks for sharing.

    1. I knew the last pic, too, but I had never heard the photographer's name before. Wikipedia tells us his patrons included the composer Richard Strauss, Wilhelm II (the German emperor) and, most tellingly, Oscar Wilde.
