Timberfell
Lodge—July, 2025
I didn’t
get to the campground until almost noon on Sunday. I parked in the lot near the site of the massive
party on Saturday night. The first thing
I saw was the blow-up unicorn that had been tied to the top of a sling frame. It had lost most of its air overnight and
hung limply from the frame, looking as tired and lifeless as I felt. It felt good to just sit in my car for a moment
with a cup of tea. (I got enough energy
back by nightfall for one last rout. But
I’m saving that story until Friday, so we don’t have three posts back-to-back all
about large group sex events.)
So a few
bits and bobs, as my partner use to say…
Books:
I mentioned David-SF’s (David Wichman) book that I’d purchased the day before. It is The Four Rooms: An In-queery on Sexual Freedom and Well-Being. David has worked for years with men who feel sexual shame and inadequacy. He is the first to say it is not a self-help book so much as a process to finding a way of looking at things--so men can ‘make space for the parts of themselves that may be undiscovered or exiled by guilt’ in order to embrace our whole sexual being. I am on the last chapter now and finding it fascinating. He writes just like he talks—I feel like he’s beside me speaking right to me.
I will also
be picking up his memoir, Every Grain of Sand.
The Four
Rooms is published
by ONBrand Books, Nashville, TN.

Allen Silver
also has a new book out, Man of Use.
I found a card for it in my goodie bag from the event and asked Ric, the
events coordinator, about it. He had
read it and liked it a lot. Man of Use,
to quote right from the card is “The story of a man who discovers his vocation
is to be of erotic service to other men.”
I can’t wait to get my copy.

Last year
I listed info for all the content creators I met (or had sex with…) This year,
with my arriving late, I really didn’t have dealings with any one other than Jonah
Wheeler.

The last thing
I want to mention is a thank you to Ray Dalton.
As we were setting up the slings for the Fornication Party, he thought I
should be in the room where the pool tables were. I was fine with that—until blue lights were
hung and turned on. It was dark. Almost black. Many men would (and did) love
that, but I’m a guy who needs to read the bottom I’m fucking. I need to see his face. I need to see the cues and reactions of what
I doing to/for him.
I mentioned
this to Ray. This man with a million
balls in the air at that moment, instantly understood my issue—and did
something about it. We dragged my sling
outside and replaced one of his in the pool room. And that wasn’t all, as the sun set an hour
into the party, Ray arrived with a clip light.
He installed it on the nearest post, making sure it wasn’t aimed right
at us, but he wanted to make sure I had the visuals that are so important for
how I fuck. He didn’t have to do any of
that. But he cared. He listened.
He ‘got’ me.
Thank you,
Ray. It’s one of the many things that
make these events so special.

I'm so glad to hear from another guy who needs to SEE to enjoy sex - sex parties and bath houses are often so dimly lit that I have trouble reading what's going on with my partner. Also, a lot of my sexual pleasure comes in via the eyes; it's tough for me to get going with the right kind of energy to have fun and get off, if I can't see.
ReplyDeleteMen are visual creatures. We love to watch sex. But beyond that, one of the reasons I'm told I'm a good top is that I am really aware of the man I'm fucking. I need to see if I am entering too fast, too slow, if I'm hurting him, etc....Ray got this--as he does the same. And it sounds like you do, too.
DeleteTo me, there's nothing as erotic, primal, and intimate, as looking into my bottom's eyes as I'm unloading inside him.
DeleteThat, too!
DeleteThank you for the book recommendations. Memoirs are valuable to those of us struggling with our sexuality.
ReplyDeleteIf you are struggling with sexuality, take a look at The Four Rooms. You may find some new ways to look at things--and help figure it all out.
DeleteAlmost done with Every Grain of Sand. A great memoir.
ReplyDeleteI am ordering it next week. Can't wait.
